Two decades after Eye to the Telescope introduced the world to KT Tunstall, the acclaimed songwriter returned to The SoCal Sound for an intimate live session and conversation with Matt Pinfield.
Performing live in-studio, KT revisited the songs that helped define a generation of indie and alternative music fans, including “Suddenly I See” and “Big Black Horse & The Cherry Tree,” while also debuting a brand new track titled “Look At Me Now.”

KT described the new song as a celebratory follow-up to “Suddenly I See,” written in honor of the 20th anniversaries of both Eye to the Telescope and The Devil Wears Prada.

The conversation between KT and Matt Pinfield covered everything from her early inspirations — including Patti Smith, Tom Waits, David Bowie, and Chrissie Hynde — to the emotional experience of headlining London’s Royal Albert Hall while celebrating both her 50th birthday and the 20-year legacy of her debut album.
KT also opened up about the deeper meaning music has taken on for her over the years, reflecting on community, belonging, and the importance of live performance in an increasingly disconnected world.

One of the session’s standout moments came during “Big Black Horse & The Cherry Tree,” when KT seamlessly transitioned into a surprise tribute to Eurythmics with a few lines of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” — a nod to the rich lineage of Scottish music discussed during the interview.

The session also gave fans a glimpse into KT’s ambitious upcoming project, 100 Years, 100 Women, a decade-spanning acoustic series celebrating female artists from the 1920s through today.
