Hello. I'm Julie Slater. And I'm obsessed with the band PREWN. Our 88-5 ALBUM DIVE!
We've got so much going on right now. We just started a new month - and it just so happens to be WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH. We're going to celebrate by featuring female artists every week for our 88-5 ALBUM DIVE.
First up is a band I just discovered (thanks to our night-time DJ Rob Romero and his cousin Jennifer - who told me to check out the song "System"). The band is PREWN which is Izzy Hagerup's band. Originally from Western Massachusetts, now living right here in Los Angeles.
The band has been labeled "rickety, goosebump-inducing cello-rock." I hear a little bit of PJ Harvey, Fiona Apple, maybe even Nine Inch Nails, and I'm all about it. The album, the band's second studio album, is called "System."
Let's dive into the new Prewn record every weekday this week just after 12-Noon for our 88-5 ALBUM DIVE on the SoCal Sound.

Prewn is opening for Whitney at the Lodge Room next week (March 13th and 14th). Very excited to see Prewn live.
